Tribute

by Tulasi-Priya on Tuesday 16 October 2012

I was going to post this video today anyhow, but now it seems fitting to do so in honor of HarryiPants’ father, who passed away recently. I never knew the man, but iPants is a good man, and the apple never falls far from the tree. The video is an adaptation of Hemingway’s “The Old Man and the Sea,” done in paint-on-glass animation by Aleksandr Petrov.

“Rest well, old man.”

Gorgeous, and fascinating. I’ve never seen animation like this before. Each frame is like an Impressionist painting.

Wow, that’s amazing art work. I can’t even imagine the amount of work that would go into this!

Thank you so much TP, for your kind thoughts and for honouring my old dad with this.
It’s a beautifully done video of a wonderful story, and he would have enjoyed it very much.
The Old Man and The Sea is the book I own that I’ve had longer than any other.
And certainly, my father was not unlike the old man in the story. He did amazing things, and was a hero to many, and we will always remember him for all the right reasons.
